March 25th Featuring,

Scott Head

Scott Head has been gardening since childhood and began his YouTube channel in 2014 as a way to teach whoever might tune in how to grow food in the hot subtropics of the Texas coast. The Black Gumbo Southern Gardening channel is a teaching channel, aimed at both beginners and intermediate gardeners, and showcases the good and the ugly in a small backyard plot typical of suburban homes. Scott grows a wide variety of perennial and annual food crops and began the Single Seed Challenge, a very successful YouTube social experiment. Scott has been married for 30-plus years and has three children, all of whom learned a little gardening along the way.
